Misc Costs
MISC. SERVICES AND PRODUCTS
There are many items that don't fit easily into specific categories yet must be included in your budget. It is best to budget a minimum of $5.00 per sq. ft for unknowns and market corrections. If possible, budget more.
A partial list of services and material
- Door Hardware - $500 to $1,000
- Rentals – misc. Rentals of scaffolding, equipment, etc - $1,000 to $2,500
- Tool Purchases - $750 to $2,500
- Nails, Glue, Hardware, Caulk & Misc. Lumberyard items - $750 to $2,000
- Driveway (concrete) - $2.00 to $3.00 per sq ft
- Driveway (asphalt) - $1.00 to $2.00 per sq ft
- Patios, Steps & Walk ways (concrete flatwork) $2.00 to $3.00 per sq ft

- Log Chinking (labor & material) – $.75 to $1.25 per lineal ft of log
- Site Cleanup & Trash Removal - $500 to $1,500
- Contractor profit and overhead – 10% to 20% (typically 15% of project costs)
- Landscaping & Irrigation – unknown costs
- Final Home Cleanup (window washing, construction clean-up, etc.) - $500
- Closet Finish - Allow $175-$300 per closet

These costs and prices are not quotes. They are simply cost benchmarks developed over time through experience and the use of national averages. These values are adequate for determining initial budgets and project feasibility. All prices must ultimately be validated using final plans by your realtor, suppliers, builder and contractor(s).
