Cabinet Costs
Aspen Log Homes
only offers its handcrafted custom line of cabinets. The cabinets
shown here are for contractor grade estimates to give you a starting
point for your budget. We have intentionally focused on
the upper end of the cabinet spectrum which includes Raised panel and
Shaker style doors in
oak, hickory, maple, alder, or cherry. Flat panel doors are also available.
The following tables and illustrations will help you in determining an
approximate cabinetry cost for your entire house
Use one of these three methods to establish cabinet costs:
-
1) By the
cabinet box. This is most accurate because you find the cost of each
cabinet unit and add them up.
2) By the
lineal foot of base and upper cabinets combined.
-
3) Range of
cabinet costs per sq. ft. of home floor area.
CABINET COST BY UNIT
Use the table and illustrations of common cabinet units to
"build" your kitchen. Other cabinets are also listed for baths
and laundry rooms. Remember, while only a very few items are shown here,
there are actually hundreds of units available, each in a variety of wood
species, door styles,
sizes and finishes.
-
Other items to consider costing cabinets by the UNIT:
- Appliance sizes and specifications
- Pre-manufactured cabinets are finished. Match stain to your
woodwork
- Wood Specie: Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory (Shaker style only)
- Installation costs w/mouldings - typ. $25 - $35 per box -
$800-$1500 per home
COST BY LINEAL FOOT
You can estimate the cost of your cabinets by using an average cost per foot of upper and lower cabinet. For example, a 3 foot base cabinet with a 3 foot upper cabinet would be considered 3 feet of running cabinet.
The cabinets offered by Aspen Log Homes average approx. $225 per running foot.
This is not as accurate as the individual unit method above.
Other items to consider costing cabinets by the LINEAL FOOT:
- Appliance sizes and specifications
- Pre-manufactured cabinets are finished. Match stain to your woodwork.
- Freight & handling costs - usually $150 - $300 per home
COST PER SQ. FT. TYPICAL RANGE
You can estimate the cost of your cabinets by multiplying the floor area of your home by an average cabinet cost factor.
The cabinets offered by Aspen Log Homes average $3 - $6 per sq. ft. of living area.
